Our church’s journey began on March 9, 1907, when it was established as “The Apostolic Temple” at 404-406 E. Sandusky St., Findlay, Ohio. Remarkably, this building was once a local saloon. T.K. Leonard purchased the saloon in January 1907 and began its transformation into a place of worship on March 9, 1907, making it the first church in the Assemblies of God.
In 1963, we embarked on a new chapter by breaking ground for a new sanctuary, which we moved into in 1964. Further growth came in 1971 with the addition of new offices and classrooms to the sanctuary.
Our church’s humble beginnings reflect our mission to transform and redeem. From an old saloon to a house of worship, we continue to strive to heal and uplift the broken hearts of Findlay for the glory of God. We are a church in the city, for the city!
